Seafarers

Pre-Sea Medical Examinations for College Enrollment

Physical and Medical Standards – Candidates must be medically fit according to the Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rules, with uncorrected 6/6 vision in each eye and normal color vision.

Sign Off Medical

Candidates who have been signed off from the vessel on medical grounds must undergo a health assessment conducted by a company-designated doctor.

Periodic Medical Examination

This medical assessment is conducted at regular intervals throughout a seafarer's career, in accordance with the standards detailed in Annexure I and Annexure III.

Pre–Employment Examination (PEME) / ILO Medicals

Armada Health, led by Dr Anika Sreevastav, is a DG Shipping-approved ILO medical center. For seafarers over 18 who are deemed fit for duty without restrictions, the physical examination must be performed within the regulatory timeframe before the next scheduled check. If any non-disqualifying restrictions are identified, the examination should be conducted more frequently, as required by the guidelines. All examinations are carried out in strict adherence to the standards established by the International Labor Organization and the World Health Organization.

DG Shipping Approved Doctor

Dr Anika Sreevastav is a DG Shipping approved doctor, recognized since 2021 by the DIRECTORATE GENERAL (DG) OF SHIPPING – GOVERNMENT OF INDIA to conduct SEAFARERS Medical Examinations (PEME). Our marine clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment and facilities to ensure accurate and reliable medical assessments. With a commitment to excellence and adherence to the highest international standards, Dr Anika Sreevastav leads our team in delivering exceptional healthcare services tailored to the needs of seafarers.

Medical for MMD Examination / COC / CDC / GOC

A valid medical certificate is required prior to any MMD examination or STCW course, in accordance with DG guidelines.

Cruise Line Medical

These medical examinations are designed to assess a crew member's overall fitness for duty on a cruise ship. They include identifying existing medical conditions, reviewing previous medical history, documenting any injuries, and screening for substance abuse, while also verifying the individual's vaccination status.

Off Shore Medical

At Armada Health, led by Dr Anika Sreevastav—a DG-approved doctor—we are authorized to conduct offshore medical examinations. These evaluations are designed to identify any underlying medical conditions prior to joining an offshore vessel, ensuring that each crew member is fit for duty.
